Several of you have asked if I know who is buying what when you use my Amazon.com links. Amazon provides me with NO buyer information, although I do get a list what what was purchased, the selling price, and the date of purchase.

Startup Key Combinations for Intel-based Macs

Apple has released a Knowledge Base Article describing various key commands and what they do when pressed during start-up. These can be very useful when troubleshooting your Mac. Be sure to press the start-up key combinations immediately after hearing the start-up tone, and hold them until you see the desired result. Of course, as with any troubleshooting, make sure you know what you're doing.

Some Useful Applications for Watching Video

The FREE Flip4Mac WMV Player allows you to play Windows Media files on your Mac using QuickTime Player or Safari.

The FREE RealPlayer application allows you to play Real media files on your Mac. The included RealPlayer Downloader application allows you to easily download many (but not all) flash movies, such as those found on YouTube.com

The System Preferences pane Perian enables QuickTime to support a large variety of additional media types. Most people don't need it, but it's nice to have when you do.

MenuCalendarClock

MenuCalendarClock is an iCal-compatible menu calendar and a configurable menu clock. It's a easy way to access your iCal calendar from the menu bar. I use it.
